GASTRONOMIC PARATY
March 1 to June 30, 2027
“The Savory Art of Brazilian Cuisine”
A cultural and gastronomic program that brings together the Mediterranean flavors of Portugal, the coasts of Black Africa, and the influence of indigenous Brazil.
Paraty, located in the state of Rio de Janeiro, is not only a UNESCO World Heritage site for its culture and architecture but was also declared a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy in 2017. Historically, Paraty was a vital part of the famous Estrada Real (Royal Road), the route used to transport the riches of Minas Gerais to the ports of Brazil for shipment to Portugal. With a long-standing tradition, this small seaside town presents a unique culinary identity born from centuries of indigenous, Portuguese, and African influences. By day, explore the city on foot or by boat; by night, enjoy a spectacular "show of flavors" in one of Brazil’s most vibrant nightlife centers.
